Final thoughts:
If some additions were made to this program, I could
honestly see buying it on the spot.? It
already is an very nice program, and some say an incredible program.? For what it states that it can do, it does,
and does quite well.?
If you wish to do basic repaints of already painted
planes and you simply want to make color changes, and you wish to see the plane
before you save it and load it in FS, then this is the program for you.? You will be very happy with it.?
If you wish to power use this program to do custom paints
from scratch or use textures that are not currently part of your aircraft
library, and want to do more advanced editing (which you can in external edit
mode...so I can't complain much here) then you may find this a bit wanting.
Pros:? This
program is very good at what it does do.?
The fact that you don't have to load the textures into DXTBmp then
convert, load into PS, edit, save, load back into DXTBmp and save converted
again, and then run FS to see your work is GREAT.? The lighting feature is fantastic and so helpful and easy.? Almost worth the cost itself.
Cons:? You
can't load textures that are not part of a current aircraft.? You can't use the internal editor for heavy
duty repaints or new, from scratch, paints very easily.? You have no layers to work with to get
things just right before flattening and saving.? Text work is basic and not easily edited AFTER you finish with
the text tool.
Enjoy this program and if cranking out repaints of
existing paint jobs is what you want, you will not find anything that does it
as well as FSRepaint.
