Joe Jurecka, previous author of Squawkbox, is leading the formation of a group of developers who will create a new platform to enable online ATC to become more robust than ever. This server platform will be radically different from the existing FSD server in that it will be a complete redesign from the ground up. Also, of significance, this product will become Open Source after general release. The Developers Group reports that Joe has been working on a high level design document and has reached a stage where collaborative idea sharing needs to start. As Joe is sticking to overall design, additional developers are needed to contribute to the design and perform the appropriate coding to make the new system a reality.
